Jane has invited over a single mom and her young daughter for dinner. The house is a panic as Jane's two kids and husband help prepare for the visit in the middle of math assignments and clothes selection for the senior picture. The daughter Christine is especially irritable because she has "nothing to wear"-and a big pile of clothes to prove it. The single mom and daughter arrive, and share the good news that she has a job interview, but other than jeans and a waitress outfit, she literally has "nothing to wear." Christine has been watching somewhat aloof, but suddenly chimes in and offers one of her outfits, which is actually quite nice. Her generosity is touching-though she quickly reverts to threatening to poke out her brother's eyes.
