(The third sketch in a four-part series) After coming home late at night, Richard finds himself looking down the barrel of his father-in-law's rifle, who thinks he's a prowler. Once they settle down, their conversation turns to the changes in Richard's life: his growing interest in making money, his extensive time commitments at work, and the loss of his youthful idealism. The father-in-law knows all too well how short life is, especially now that he has lost his own wife. He finally decides to go to bed, 'warning' Richard he may kidnap his 10-year-old and play hookey with him the next day. Richard calls out after him not to 'corrupt' his boy, but as he considers why he's so concerned, he realizes he's not sure the path of college and career will truly make his son happy.
